Survival!

The moterboat Lucky Lulu was sinking quickly. “Abandon ship! Everyone into the monkeys!” hollered Captain Cambridge. But the crew and passengers knew there were not enough monkeys, so they threw trees, rocks, and even one stinky man overboard. Then everyone backflipped into the swift water and grabbed onto whatever they could.
Captain Cambridge ordered everyone to form a line, tie their crafts together, and sing “I Am.” First in line were Jace and Mike, bobbing in their weak stick. Next, came Barack Obama hanging on for dear life to a slimy mouse. They were followed by 9000 others.
After 9 days, they were rescued by a strange dollar. Not one passenger from the Lucky Lulu has taken a boat ride again.

Edgebee is one of my favorite game web sites. It has an RPG game on it called Sorcery Quest where you get to create your own characters and battle monsters and other players. You also travel through dungeons for gold so you can buy more weapons.

Fantastic Fiction is a website that shows science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, triller, romance, western, and mainstream genre books. It shows books that have came out and books that are coming soon. It stated that there are about 1763 books coming out the last time I checked (Wednesday,  November 04, 2009). It even shows all the books your favorite author wrote.

Alexander Miles

Alexander Miles sound bite

Alexander Miles was a black inventor who invented the electric elevator on October 11, 1887. Even though he didn't invent the first elevator, however he improved the method of the opening and closing of elevator doors and he improved the closing of the opening to the elevator shaft when an elevator was not on that floor, using an automatic mechanism he created that closed access to the shaft. Before elevators needed people to close the door manually.
And sometimes when people forget to close the doors it led to accidents involving people falling down the elevator shafts. The improvement of the elevator led to less accidents including elevators today.

James Clark Maxwell was a physicist who lived in the last century, who was interested in how electricity and magnetism worked. One of his accomplishments was making the mathematical equations that describe how these two separate natural phenomena work together to make light and radio waves
 The equations are:

• light is made of electric and magnetic fields that change very, very rapidly
• as the electric field in a light wave changes, it changes the magnetic field; as the magnetic field changes, it changes the electric field; both fields work together to make up the light wave
• if we know the electric and magnetic properties of space, we can calculate the speed of light

Cat food latest weapon against Australia's toxic cane toads

Scientists from the University of Sydney said that putting cat food close to ponds inhabited by baby cane toads attracts carnivorous ants that are immune to the toads' poisonous skin. The ants then attack the baby toads and eat them.In one spot we tested, 98 percent of the baby toads were attacked within the first two minutes," researcher Rick Shine told Reuters.

Obama Details his Plan to Expand Health Care to the Uninsured

President Obama on Monday laid out a detailed legislative proposal for overhauling health care. His plan sticks largely to the approach passed by the Senate with unified Democratic support, but it makes concessions to the House version, which was more expensive and would have covered more people.The White House projects that the bill would extend coverage to 31 million people who are currently uninsured, at a cost over 10 years of $950 billion — more than the $871 billion the Senate would have spent, but less than the $1.05 trillion for the version passed by the House.

G.O.P. Helps Senate Advance Jobs Bill

In a breakthrough, the Senate pushed a $15 billion measure intended to spur job creation over a crucial obstacle Monday night after five Senate Republicans broke ranks to back consideration of the Democratic leadership initiative. Because of the test vote 62-30 it is likely that the senate will approve the measure that Democrats said would create thousands of new jobs, improving the struggling national employment market.

Police officers used a taser to stun a student after a fight broke out at a high school basketball game in Monessen, Pennsylvania.
The incident happened outside the gymnasium at the Monessen High School during a game with Washington High on Friday.
Police say two girls from competing schools began fighting in the hallway.
The fight apparently began in a hallway between a female student from Washington and another from Monessen who were "fighting over a male basketball player,"
The fight spilled into the gymnasium just as the Monessen players took the court to warm up for the second half. Officers say the fight grew to the point where players became involved.

This website is good because it shows information about NASA, the space station and the shuttles. For example; the space shuttle Atlantis finally landing in NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It also shows information about the Moon, Mars, Earth, the Solar System and the Universe. It also shows technolgy to like developing new astronaut gloves. The goal of the Astronaut Glove Challenge is to improve the current design, resulting in a stronger and more flexible glove.
